Susan M. Brinkman (nee Krake), age 79, went to heaven on November 17, 2021 to be reunited with her family and friends. Susan was a lifelong Appleton resident. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Ella Krake. She graduated from Appleton High School and married the love of her life, John R. Brinkman. He preceded her in death in 1987. Susan was further preceded in death by her daughter Karen Palmbach in 2016, an infant son, and grandson.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton where she taught Sunday School for more than 20 years. Susan was also a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother for her children. Susan worked at Elm Tree Bakery, Zaugs, McCain Foods and part-time at Woodman’s greeting customers for many years. She loved spending time with her family and friends. In her younger years she enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling. Susan will be remembered for her outgoing personality, sweet tooth, generous heart, and upbeat spirit throughout her life.
Susan is survived by her children Kevin (Susanne) Brinkman and Todd Brinkman (Anita), a brother Wayne Krake, sister-in-law Karen Krake, brother-in-law Bob (Joan) Brinkman, grandchildren Alicia (Doug) Obermann, John (Teresa) Brinkman, Travis (Brooke) Palmbach, Shanon (Drew) Price, Logan, Madison, Austin, and Alexxis Brinkman, 11 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Susan said she will be waiting to see everyone again someday!
A private family service has been held. A Celebration of Life for Susan will be held next year.
