Robert William Fisher, Jr.

Appleton - Robert William Fisher, Jr., age 82, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.  He was born February 2, 1939 in Appleton, WI to the late Robert W. and Phyllis (Kelly) Fisher. Robert married Donna Kain on October 13, 1959 in Appleton.  She preceded him in death on October 11, 2006. Robert served in the United States Marine Corps, earning many medals and recognitions such as, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Purple Heart with Gold Star, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citations, Navy Unit Citation and Good Conduct Medal. Following his service with the Marine Corps he also served in the Army, retiring in 1999.  He was a Firefighter for the Appleton Fire Department for 22 years.  In his spare time, Robert enjoyed fishing, camping, playing golf, playing keno at the casino and traveling; he has traveled to all 50 states.

Robert is survived by his sons: Mark Fisher, Greenleaf, and Eric (Roberta) Fisher, Appleton; daughter, Tracy Fisher, Denmark; grandchildren: Christopher, Melissa, Zachary, Sophie, Tyler, Alyssa, Robert; great grandchildren: Cordelia and Tara Fisher; brother, Ron (Ruby) Fisher; sister in law, Dawn Fisher.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson, Isaiah Fisher, brothers, James Fisher and Michael Fisher, sisters, Ellen (Wes) Stromme, Patricia Fisher and Kathleen Deeg.

A memorial service for Robert will be held at 1pm on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Valley Funeral Home, visitation will be held at 11am with full Military Honors at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
