Ralph Hugo Schwebs

Ralph H. Schwebs, age 84 passed away on September 3, 2021, following the loss of his wife, Delores. He was born to Arthur and Linda (Rabe) Schwebs on September 5, 1936 in Hortonville. On September 10, 1960, Ralph married his late wife Delores, and they spent 60 blissful years together. He enjoyed his free time keeping up with his favorite sports teams, the Chicago Cubs and the  Chicago Bears, as well as reading, following 54 years as a book buyer in the book and magazine industry. Ralph also spent much of his time tending to a lending library he created in his garage at home.

He is survived by his daughter, Sue (Ed) Holzhauer, his siblings; Carlton (Kay) Schwebs and Norman (Germaine) Schwebs, sisters in law; Mary Schwebs  and Sharon Smaney, and brothers in law; Bill Smaney, Harlan Suchan and Richard (Vicky) Suchan. Ralph is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death are his brothers; Donald (Shirley) Schwebs and Kenneth Schwebs, sisters in law; Marlene Suchan and Laverne Smaney, brother in law Donald Smaney, as well as parents Arthur and Linda Schwebs and his mother and father in law, Marcel and Olive (Brazeau) Suchan.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St, Appleton beginning at 10:00am with a memorial service to follow at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, donations to the Fox Valley Humane Association or a local veterans group of your choice in Ralph’s name are welcomed.
