Joyce L Herz

Joyce L. Herz, age 75, died peacefully on July 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born July 14, 1946 in Appleton, WI; the daughter of Clarence and Verona (Braeger) Stormfeltz. Joyce attended Appleton West High School and graduated in 1964. She was united in marriage on September 25, 1965 to Wilfred Herz. They had three children. Joyce worked at Schreiners Diner in Appleton washing dishes. She mostly enjoyed her time as a home maker, raising their children, cooking, gardening, spending time up north, reading, doing puzzles, feeding birds, spending time with her dogs, chatting with her friends, and walking.

Joyce is loved and survived by her three children Steve (Wendy) Herz, Wendy (Todd Valentyne) Daniels, and Miranda (Jensen) Andrews; five grandchildren: Emily, Elaina, Erica, Isaiah, and Elijah; sister-in-law, Chris (Jim) Dachelet; brother-in-law, Rob Voight; nieces Cindy Thompson and Jenifer Voight; nephew Timothy Carey; Aunt Marty Braeger; father-in-law Bob Nichols. Lifelong friends Melvin Kohl, Mary Kay Thornhill, and Sue Blohowiak. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Wilfred Herz; parents Clarence and Verona (Braeger) Stormfeltz; sister Linda Voight; nephew Shawn Voight; mother-in-law Maria Nichols; father-in-law Josef Herz; Aunt Lala Wirtz (whom was like a second mother); Uncle Clarance Wirtz; Uncle Donny Braeger; Lifelong friend Lori Kohl.

The family would like to thank ThedaCare Hospice and family friend Vic Olson for the great care they helped provide in her final days.

Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 pm on Monday July 19, 2021, at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street. Family and friends may gather at funeral the funeral home from 12:00 pm until the time of the service.
