Jonathan David Lane "Shorty"

Jonathan David Lane, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 14th, 2020, due to a lifelong battle with mental illness.

Jonathan, known to most as Shorty, was born on October 3rd, 1982 in Chicago Illinois to the late Diane E. Rachfal (Gary J. Hammen) and David R. Lane.

At a young age Diane moved herself and her 3 children to Appleton, WI. Jon lived most of life then in the Fox Valley area and a brief time In Louisiana with Mama Sonia and her family.

Jon was a handy man, jack of all trades, he loved working on vehicles and anything broken he would fix.  He also loved working on computers and electronics. If there was a grill going or a stove on you can bet Jon was the man behind it cooking was a passion he had for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially this past summer he loved his life on the farm, just a city boy raising his son to be a country boy as he would tell it. Sitting around the campfire, fishing on the pond out back, and four wheeling are just some of the many things he loved and we can always remember him by.

Survivors include his father David Lane; sister Teresa Rachfal (Deric); brother Jason Rachfal; his girlfriend Dawn McDaniel and their son Collin; his daughter Alizah Delfosse and son Caleb Delfosse; nieces and nephews Mercedes, Diego, Scentica, Cassandra, Dominick, and Selena; his great nephew Emmett; Mama Sonia; brothers Tim Dick JR (Tiffany), Jesse Dick, Sister Crystal Dick; nieces and nephews Alexis, Hailey, Timmy, Joey and Pablo. He is further survived by his special cousins, Lee Carter, Nicole Thayer, Cory Marlega, Jessica Marlega and Tammy Scheffler, and many, many more!

Jon was preceded in death by his Mother Diane Rachfal, Step-Dad Gary Hammen, his sister Annette Dick, Aunt Linda, Uncle Jerry, special niece Kelo & cousin Shawn Carter.

The funeral service will be held at Valley Funeral Home on Friday September 25th, 2020. People may visit the funeral home anytime between 12-2 pm and the service will begin at 2pm.

The family would like to thank everyone who has already donated to the Gofundme account for Jonathan David Lane. Without you we would have never been able to have a proper funeral for him.
