John L. Peters, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on April 19, 2024, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, WI, surrounded by his loving family, due to complications from illness.
Born to late Leonard and Lillian (Ready) Peters on July 25, 1936, John lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service. On February 1, 1958, he married the love of his life, Dallaise “Dolly” Peters, with whom he shared countless cherished memories.
John served his country with honor as a Marine and dedicated many years of hard work to Miller Electric.
John had a zest for life and enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, and immersing himself in history. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. His unconditional love and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew him.
His legacy lives on through his children Michael (Susan) Peters, Richard (special friend Brenda) Peters, Michele (late husband Willie) Culligan, Clint “CJ” Peters (special friend Jess), Nadine Holcomb (special friend Tyler), Nicole Peters, and Jennifer (Mark) Weinreis; He leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren Bailey, Elizabeth, Emma, Jordan, Alyssa, Avah, Aubrey, and Ryker, as well as his great-grandchild, Winry; his brother, Leonard (Diane) Peters, family friend, Rita Peters.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolly, daughter Kelly, sister Nancy.
Dad, our hero, your love and guidance will forever be cherished. Though we mourn your passing, your spirit will live on in our hearts eternally. We love you always and will carry your memory with us forever.
Forever in our hearts, John will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of John's life will be held on Thursday April 25, 2024 from 3:30-5:30 PM at Valley Funeral Home 2211 N. Richmond St. Appleton, WI 54911.
