Harold “Harry” Pomplun, age 86, passed away June 27, 2021. He was born October 22, 1934 In Coloma, WI. He graduated in 1952 from New London High School.
Harold enjoyed dancing, especially the Polka. He met his wife, Dorothy, at the “Cinderella”. They were married April 4, 1960 in Berlin, WI. They enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Harold also enjoyed bowling in a men’s league and with Dorothy in a couple’s league.
Harold was a National Guard Veteran. He worked at Pacon Corp. for over 20 years. He was also a Master Barber, having a barber shop in his home.
After retiring in 1996 from Pacon, Harry often rode his motorcycle to the Fox River Mall to walk and meet other mall walkers.
After living in Appleton for over 50 years, Harold and Dorothy built a retirement home on Lake Winnebago in 2008.
Harold is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a daughter Susan (John Pekel), Appleton; and son Darrell (Connie) Pomplun, Marinette. Five grandchildren: Amy (Brad) Boivin, Marinette; Katie (Jake) Mingledorff, Nashville; Samantha (Zach) Goddard, Readfield; Josh (Autumn) Pekel, Appleton; and Justin Pekel, Appleton.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents Helen and Fred Pomplun, and two brothers, Darwin and James.
Services will be held Monday, July 5th at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E. Glendale, Appleton. Visitation will be from 9:30 am to the time of service at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to radio ministry at Faith Lutheran Church.
