Gary L. Breening

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Breening on August 6, 2026.

Gary was a husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, friend, and proud member of the Hot Rod community. He is survived by his only daughter, Michelle Storma, son-in-law Matt Storma, and his beloved grandchildren, Zac Storma and Mackenzie Storma

Gary is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Bev Sakis; nephew, Mike (Dawn) Sakis; brother- in-law, Jeff (Dawn) Gyrion; sister-in-law, Amy (Steve) Beach; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Anyone who knew Gary knew his greatest passion was cars. Whether he was restoring them, talking about them, or attending car shows with lifelong friends, Gary was happiest surrounded by classic cars and the people who shared his enthusiasm. In recent years, one of his greatest joys was passing that passion on to his grandson, Zachary. The countless hours they spent together at car shows created memories that Zac will cherish for the rest of his life.

Gary also shared a special bond with his granddaughter, Mackenzie, affectionately known to him as "Pookie." He loved teasing her, making her laugh, and never passed up the opportunity to enjoy one of the delicious cakes she loved to bake.

Three years ago, Gary lost his wife Monica. While that loss was difficult, support of his daughter Michelle helped carry him through. She always found reasons to stop by, spend time with him, and remind him how deeply he was loved.

Gary also had a gift for teaching others. He generously shared his knowledge of home remodeling and woodworking with his son-in-law, Matt, leaving behind not only valuable skills but a lifetime of memories built side by side. Those projects will forever serve as a reminder of the time they shared together.

Gary's willingness to lend a helping hand touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, nephews, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. His absence will also be felt throughout the Hot Rod community, where he made countless friendships over the years.

Honoring Gary's wishes, he will be cremated and laid to rest beside his parents.

Although we are heartbroken by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is reunited with Monica. His legacy lives on through his family, the friendships he built, the lessons he shared, and the memories created with everyone whose lives he touched.

Rest easy, Dad “Gary”. May the roads ahead be smooth, the engines always roar, and your spirit continue to ride with us forever. You will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and never forgotten.
