Donna Champeau, age 74 of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly as a result of an automobile accident in Custer, South Dakota. She was out doing what she loved, traveling, camping and hiking. Donna was born on December 27, 1948 to the late Dow and Angeline (Freismuth) Miller in Fond du Lac. In addition to camping, hiking and traveling, she enjoyed scrapbooking and shopping. She was a constant volunteer with Loaves and Fishes, a cause that was very important to her. Most important in Donna’s life were her grandchildren and children, and she will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her children; Paul Jakl, Tracy (Scott Pokorny) Schroeder and Dawn Schroeder, step kids; Angel Champeau and Rick Champeau, grandchildren; Jake, Alanna, Samantha and many other grandchildren, also, soon to be great grand daughter, Brynn. Donna is further survived by her brothers, Robert Dufay and Dow Miller Jr. as well as her cat Chunk.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Richard Champeau, sister, Margaret (Juan) Barboza and her very special friend, Michael Congrove who also lost his life in the accident.
A celebration of life for both Donna and Michael Congrove will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at St Therese Parish activity center (Loaves and Fishes) 213 E Wisconsin Ave. Appleton, WI 54911.
