Darlene "Doll" M. Paulson

Darlene “Doll” Paulson, 72, passed away on May 21, 2026. She was born on December 8, 1953 to her late parents Norman and Alice (Bogenschutz) Paulson.

Doll and her family moved to Appleton when she was just 4 years old and has been here ever since. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1972 and welcomed her daughter shortly after. Doll went on to work at Appleton Papers for 30+ years at the Combined Locks location and retired. During her retirement though, she enjoyed going to Dick and Joan’s supper club to help out when she could.

Doll loved animals, especially her dogs. She always had a fluffy companion with her, her latest being a golden doodle named Cooper. She was a very social person, often getting lost in conversation with her friends, sisters, or daughter Kim. She liked to go gambling, spend time in her garden and maintaining her lawn, and enjoyed quality time with Kim and her sisters doing puzzles or shopping.

She is survived by her daughter Kim Keen, siblings: Mary (Jerry) Hietpas, Shirley Schmidt, Joe (Jan) Paulson, and Carol (Bob) Keough; along with nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Doll is preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Jane and Marv Timm, brother-in-law Phil Schmidt, nephew Scott Hietpas, and past fur babies.

There will be a time to celebrate Doll on May 28, 2026, at Valley Funeral Home – 2211 N Richmond St. Appleton WI 54911. A visitation will be held from 10-11am with the memorial service starting at 11. Deacon Don will be officiating and there will be a time to visit and eat after the service at a different location.
