Daniel T. Van Landghen, age 77 of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 21, 2022. He was born in Appleton on November 6, 1944 to the late Fred and Alvina Van Landghen. On September 14, 1963 he married Joy Boldt, she preceded him in death in 2002. Dan retired from Voith in 2002 after 28 years of being a welder. Dan loved to spend time tinkering in his garage on various projects, small and large. From lawnmowers and snow blowers to restoring classic cars, the car he restored with his son has won several awards at car shows. He loved working in the garage with his son, family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog. Dan will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him; he will remain forever in our hearts.
He is survived by his children; Dianne Van Landghen, Bill (Jeanne) Van Landghen, Krista (Scott) Seifert, grandchildren; Tiffany (Mike), Jessica (Carlos), Amanda (Roberto) and Justin, great grandson, Noah and his beloved dog, Katie. Dan is further survived by his brothers Jack (Ruth), Doug and Bruce, sister in law, Voni and brothers in law, Rick (Janis) Boldt and Tony (Carol) Boldt, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, Joy, sister, Phley (Lloyd), brother Paul and brother (and best friend) Robert (Nancy). He is also preceded by his brother in law, Danny Boldt and sister in law Roxy
Family and friends may gather on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4:00pm until the time of service at 7:00pm at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N Richmond St. Appleton.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Fresenius Dialysis Center of Appleton, and Dr. R. Wilson, Dr. M. Johnson and Dr. J. Christenson for the wonderful care given to Dan.
To our little sister Krista, thank you for all the care you gave to Dad. We appreciate everything you did for him.
