Annemarie Stelzer

Annemarie Stelzer of Cecil, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, October 18th, 2021. She was 87 years old at the time of her death.

Annemarie was born on November 25th, 1933 in Germany to the late Franz and Ella Stasiak. In 1953, she immigrated to the United States with her family and met her husband, George Stelzer in Rothschild, Wisconsin. They were married in 1954 and had 5 loving children.

Annemarie enjoyed traveling the world, skiing, gardening, and making wedding cakes and dresses. Annemarie was very active in the German community, and was the president of DANK, the German-American National Congress, which allowed her and her husband to participate in numerous events, sharing their love to dance. Annemarie was a doting mother and grandmother, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You could always find her wearing a skirt, even if she was up on a roof building a home (that she designed!). Her love of nature kept her in home until the end.

Annemarie was preceded in death by her husband, George Stelzer, as well as her parents, Franz and Ella Stasiak.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Sieglinde (Gordon) Gorski, Horst (Sandy) Stasiak, Elvira Wysocki, and Egon (Sue) Stasiak, her children, Kordi (Tom) Scheibe, Wally (Connie) Stelzer, Roni (Rick) O’Keefe, Charlie (Kim) Stelzer, and Steffanie (Tom) Bishop. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A service will be held at Valley Funeral Home on Friday, October 22nd at 11:00 following a visitation from 9-11:00. A luncheon will follow at the funeral home after the service.
