Appleton-Sandra Fay Stoffel died on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton with her family and friends around her. She was born in West Bend, the daughter of the late Elmer and Jane Kaelin on July 7, 1949.
“Sandy” is survived by her sister, Sherry Boyette and brother-in-law, Roger Boyette, nephews Paul (Jessie) Boyette and Steve (Lindsey) Boyette and great nephews Hudson and Lennox Boyette. She loved those little boys and delighted in getting pictures of them and visiting with them. Sandra is further survived by cousins, nieces and nephews through marriage, sisters and brothers-in-law.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Clair (“Fritz”) Stoffel. He was missed greatly by her. Her parents, grandparents and many other relatives preceded her in death.
She struggled with her illness for many years but never gave up hope. Her motto was “You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.”
She was very generous and did not have a mean bone in her body. She loved knitting, watching the Hallmark channel and getting visits from Bo kitty and her family. She was the best sister you could have.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Huff officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in a private ceremony.
Sandra’s family would like to extend a special Thank You to Rosie Stoffel, Diane Starfeldt and Larry Radloff for their care and friendship. Also, Rennes Rehabilitation Center, ThedaCare Hospital and Hospice, Dr. Goggins and Wendy for all their tender care of Sandra. Rachel at Expressive Therapies played her guitar and sang to Sandy on the day she died. It was lovely.
