Roger Rex Vick

Roger Rex Vick, age 67, died peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home holding the hand of his wife Jackie.

Roger was born on February 10, 1951 a son of the late Rexford and Jane (Sperl) Vick at St Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was an Appleton West High School graduate and served his country with the US Army in Vietnam between 1971-1972. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Ann Subert on February 10, 1990 here in Appleton and spent their Honeymoon in Hawaii. Roger formerly worked with the Waverly Sanitation District for several years. Roger was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodworker. Jackie and Roger loved to travel; they went several times to Hawaii and also traveled to Cabo, New Orleans. He also went to Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa. He loved to go to the casinos.

Roger is survived by his wife, Jackie of 28 years; a son, Ryan (Melissa) Vick, Eau Claire, WI; and his fury friends, Molly and Howie; a sister, Betty De Baere, Appleton; a brother, David (Martha) Vick, Black Creek; his mother-in-law, Janice (Mel) Antos, Appleton; a brother-in-law, Jim (Wanda) Subert, Nichols; and by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Roger was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Richard Subert, a brother-in-law, Norbert De Baere, and two nephews, Peter Subert and Vern Wene and a great-nephew, Kyle Wene.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Michael L. Huff officiating. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Roger’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 11 AM until the time of service. Military Honors will follow the service. A memorial fund is being established in Roger’s name.
