Mary Elizabeth Novotny, age 98, died peacefully on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Rennes Health Care of Appleton.
Mary was born on December 24, 1919 in St Paul, Minnesota, daughter of the late John and Lucy (Robertson) Wahoski. She and her family moved to Appleton in 1963. Mary had a passion for life, her four children, nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, family fishing trips to Canada, but mostly the Wisconsin north woods near Minocqua and Boulder Junction. Mary was a longtime member of St Pius X Catholic Parish.
Mary is lovingly survived by her children, William (Bonnie) Novotny, Robert (Nancy) Novotny, Richard (Cindy) Novotny and Jeanine (David) Packett; her grandchildren, Brooke Ann (Brad) Hatten, Stephanie (Mike) Timmers, Rebecca (Jeff) Horvath, Nicole (Mike) Tennie, William (Mandy) Novotny, Jill (Glenn) Butzin, Jonathan (Melissa) Novotny, Denielle (Jared) Everson, and Shane (Alice) Packett and by 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mary was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Paul and her sister, Delores.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 500 W. Marquette Street, Appleton with the Rev. James Jugenheimer officiating. Mary’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 9:00-11:15 a.m. Mass will follow at 11:30. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established.
