Jerome E. (Butch) Kolosso Jr. age 56, passed away suddenly at his home in Appleton during the early morning hours on Saturday, October 27. He was born on October 13, 1962 to Jerome E. Kolosso Sr. and Elizabeth A. (Betty) Kolosso-Meunier.
Butch was born and raised in Appleton. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, Wilson Jr. High, and Appleton West High School, graduating in 1980.
Butch chose not to follow in the automotive business of his grandfather and father. Instead he chose to pursue a future in hospitality, spending his early years tending and managing in many local bars and entertainment establishments including the Americano’s Drum and Bugle Corp. In April of 1998, he purchased the then known Lake Park Tavern. Never satisfied, in 2012 he built and opened Little Chicago Fine Dining and Spirits. Along with Lake Park Pub, both establishments have thrived under his management.
In their spare time away from the two establishments, both Butch and Raz were very much involved in Auto racing. In 2004 they started LP Motorsports and raced weekly at Wisconsin International Raceway and also racing specials throughout the state.
Butch was also known to be a dog lover. His two dogs Reeves and Keanu went everywhere he went and they will miss him dearly.
He will be sadly missed by his spouse of 10 years, Brian Rasmussen, Appleton, his mother Betty (Jim) Kolosso-Meunier, Neenah, sisters; Lisa Kolosso, Verona, and Lori (Mark) Steger, Appleton also a nephew Andrew Meier, Verona.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Robert and Stella Kolosso and Ralph and Frankie Bowers, his father; Jerome E. Kolosso Sr. and an infant niece, Megan Meier.
Visitation for Butch will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:45 PM on Saturday November 3, 2018 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St. Appleton. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation and will begin at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Mike Huff officiating.
A celebration of life will take place after the service at Lake Park Pub, 8904 Lake Park Rd. Menasha.
