Janet M. Hemling

Janet M. (Oscar) Hemling, 88, Appleton, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2018 surrounded by family. She was born on January 8, 1930, in Madison, WI to the late Elliott & Mabel Oscar. On October 15, 1955, she married Milton C. Hemling, who preceded her in death. She received her nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling, volleyball, water aerobics, casinos and breakfast with her friends, and was a longtime member of St. Bernadette Church.

She is survived by five children: Carla (Tom) Santkuyl, Combined Locks; Mark Hemling & John Marrazzo, Royersford, PA; Tom Hemling & Marla Selvidge, Loch Lloyd, MO; Mary (Pete) Losiniecki, Waukesha; Martha (Bob) Elandt, Weyauwega. Eight grandchildren: Ryan, John and Kari (Marrick Schultz) Santkuyl, Mike (Katy Rice), Matt (Angie) and Jessie (Alec Durand) Losiniecki, Logan (Brittany) and Isabella Elandt. Two great grandchildren: Emma Santkuyl & Evelyn Losiniecki, and third due in August. She is also survived by her sister:  Joanne Schlimgen. She was preceded in death by her son Paul Hemling, and brothers Donald & Richard Oscar.

Memorial Mass for Janet will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 E. Lourdes Ave, Appleton with Fr. Don Zuleger officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Thursday morning beginning at 9:30 until 10:45AM, with Mass to follow at 11:00AM.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Wisconsin’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. www.adrc.wisc.edu
