Helen Elizabeth Socha

Helen Elizabeth Socha (Lyons), 71 of Appleton, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 17th, 2018. She was born on January 27th, 1947 in Appleton, WI, daughter of the late Howard and Violet Lyons (Tierney). Helen married Peter A Socha Jr on November 10th, 1972.

Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on the holidays. She was always doing puzzles or cooking and baking for her family, she was famous for her potato salad. She was always there for her family and friends and did anything in her power to help them. Helen was a former employee of Art Fair (previously known as Tuttle Press) and Peg’s Flagstone.

Helen is survived by her husband Peter and children Michelle (Brian) Clark and Chris (Tom) Collar. Grandchildren Cody Ross, Justine Whitman, Brandon Collar, and Britney, Ashley & Caitlyn Clark. Brothers and Sisters Thomas Lyons, Harley (Nancy) Lyons, Lillian (Raymond) Becher, Robert (Judy) Lyons, Mary Hegner. Brother and Sister-in-laws, JoAnn Behling, Rosemary Kempen, Debra (David) Tennie, Barbara Socha, Marilyn Socha, Ginger (Lynn) Moss and David Socha. Numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother & father, mother and father-in-law Peter G (Dorothy) Socha. Sisters and brothers-in-law Dolly Lyons, Alice (Leonard) Colling, William Hegner, Edward (Shirley) Socha, Joseph Socha, Alvin Socha, Dennis Socha, Cyril Behling.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home on Friday, November 23, 2018. Helen’s family will receive relatives and friends at Valley Funeral Home on Friday from 4 p.m. until the 7:30 p.m. service.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up.
