Eunice Mary “Eunie” Recker, age 86, went to be with her Lord on Sunday June 3, 2018 surrounded by her family. Eunice was born on November 14, 1931, daughter of the late Harold and Mary Sachs. On June 30, 1956, she married Carl Recker with whom she spent 58 wonderful years before he passed on. She worked part time in various capacities but did her best work raising her four children. Eunice enjoyed many social activities including card club, bowling league, and trips to the casino. She traveled with her husband and friends. Eunice loved to bake and cook. She also liked to crochet, read, and fish, especially at the Winneconne lake house she and her husband Carl owned for 36 years. She had a knack for always keeping busy and when she ran out of things to do at home she volunteered her time at Father Carr’s Place To Be and local churches. Her faith has always been at the center of her life.
The thing she most enjoyed was spending time with family. There were crazy vacations up north, large family holiday gatherings, and of course always time with grandchildren whether cuddling them as babies or beating them at kings corner as adults. Eunice truly loved her family and got such joy from her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Julie Meitzen, David (Nancy) Recker, Laurie (Scott) Holland, Mary (Todd) Pulizos; seven grandchildren: Carolyn (Ry) Carley, Nathan (Hannah) Meitzen, Laura Recker, Amanda Holland, Nick Holland, Steven Pulizos, Alexandra Pulizos; great-granddaughter, Lauren Carley; step-grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren; one brother, Ken Sachs who was very special to her, one brother-in-law, Mark Recker; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eunice was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl, both her parents, her brother, Donald, sister, Janet, and brother-in-law, Paul Recker.
A celebration of Mom’s life will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Church, 620 E. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly. A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am will follow with Father Bob Kollath officiating. Entombment will be at St Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Memorials may be directed to Zilber Family Hospice.
The family would like to thank the staff from Aurora Home Hospice and Zilber Hospice for the compassionate care of Eunice and support of both Eunice and her family.
Mom, (GG, Midgie, Ginger), your children and grandchildren grieve for you now, but find peace in God's promise that we will see you again.
