Deborah Sue Atkinson, 65, of Appleton, died Wednesday April 11, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Appleton on July 8, 1952, daughter of Dennis and Therese (Daul) Krause. Deb married Hal Atkinson on July 11, 1970.
Deb was a very creative, artistic person. She enjoyed puzzles, playing games especially scrabble and knitting. Deb loved ceramics; she was the owner of “Before the Kiln” ceramic shop in Appleton. Her greatest love was time spent with her family. Hal and Deb enjoyed traveling, and spending time together at their cottage on the Embarrass River.
Deb is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Hal; their two sons: Michael (Millie), Oshkosh and Ryan (Jenni), Shawano; four grandchildren: Evan, Haily, Leland and Conner; She is further survived by her mother: Therese (James) Young, Appleton; grandma Evie Dahl, VA; and three brothers: Douglas (Kathy) Krause, Appleton, Richard (Kathy) Krause, Clintonville and Andrew (Donna-Marie) Krause, CA. She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis.
Funeral service for Deb will be held 12:00 PM on Monday April 16, 2018 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Bidal Torrez officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
