Charles Milton Campbell Jr., "Pete”, age 89, was called home by his Lord on Aug 1, 2018. He was born April 10, 1929 in Long Mott, TX, son of the late Charles Sr., and Georgia (Hackney) Campbell. Pete met Evelyn Morrow and they were married on April 22, 1951.They celebrated 65 years together on the time of her death April 22, 2016.
Pete proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After he got out of the army he was a teacher and then a school superintendent in Kansas. A career change moved them to Canton, S.D. where he was a salesman for several western companies. Pete loved to compete in team roping and rodeos. After his retirement, he and Evelyn moved to Wright, WY. before finally settling in Greenville, WI. where they were members of Faith Community United Methodist Church. Pete enjoyed prairie dog hunting and spending time with his family.
Pete will be dearly missed by his three children: daughter Gina (Dan) Iverson, son Garry (Jean) Campbell, and son Greg (JoAnn) Campbell; his 10 grandchildren Dayna (Charlie) Stoner, Derek (Denise) Iverson, Darla (Paul) Hughes, David Iverson, Jared (Emily) Campbell, Tyler (Cali) Campbell, Tanner (Tressa) Campbell, Ashley (Ben) Stege, Brad (Molly) Campbell, Ryan Campbell; and 13 great grandchildren with another on the way. He was further preceded in death by his brother, Doug; and sister, Melba Rae.
Funeral service for Pete will be 11:00 AM Monday August 13, 2018 at FAITH COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, N1966 Julius Dr. Greenville, with Rev. Dr. Listowel Ayensu-Mensah officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday evening August 12 at Valley Funeral Home-Greenville from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume Monday morning at the church beginning at 10:00 until the 11:00 AM service. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Greenville.
