Darlene M. Hoffman
September 17, 1939 – March 21, 2024
Darlene Mae Hoffman, age 84, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
Darlene was born on September 17, 1939 in New London, WI. She graduated from New London High School where she met the love of her life, Ken. They got married on October 8, 1960, and were blessed with 57 years of marriage before his death in 2017. Together they proudly raised three beautiful children.
Growing up, Darlene enjoyed traveling and visiting her grandparent’s farm. She loved listening to polka music, the color yellow, a good Old Fashioned, going on walks outside, taking care of her flowers, visiting every Thursday with her best friend Vicky, and above all – spending time with her family. She always had a big smile for you and a gentle wave goodbye.
Darlene is survived by her three children, David Hoffman, Mark Hoffman, and Jill (Mike) Anglea; three granddaughters, Krista (Andy) De Bruin, Amanda Knabenbauer (fiancé Carlos), and Danielle (Rick) Hammen; three great grandchildren, Garrett, Peyton and Miles; brother, Rick (Janet) Hoffman; aunt, Gloria Tilley (who she loved so much); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ken Hoffman; parents, Leonard Hoffman and Vivian (Raddatz) Olson; step-mother, Ila Hoffman; and in-laws, Sidney and Marcella (Johnson) Hoffman.
A funeral service will be held for Darlene on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church (located at 129 S. Mason Street, Appleton, WI) with Pastor Jon Kuske officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church for a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Darlene was dearly loved and her kind smile and cherished presence will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Appleton Retirement Community, as well as St. Elizabeth Hospital for their loving care and support.
