Virginia Lucille Kamps, age 90, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at St Paul Home in Kaukauna surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born on February 13, 1927 in Appleton the daughter of the late Clarence and Lucille (Schabo) Van Ryzin. Following her education she was united in marriage to Dean Kamps on June 23, 1948 in Appleton. Virginia was a very active and faithful member of St Bernard Catholic Parish of Appleton and a member of the Ladies Society of the church. She volunteered at the Clothes Closet in Menasha for many years and was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. All those who knew her loved her.

Virginia is survived by her four children, Kristine Manteuffel, Appleton; Patricia (Bob) Collar, Little Chute; Sandra (Jeff) Krueger, Appleton; and Steven (Faith) Kamps, Madison; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four siblings, Sister Martina Van Ryzin, Eugene Van Ryzin, Jeanette Bishop and Edith Nollan. She was also preceded in death by her husband Dean in 2013, an infant sister, Elizabeth and two brothers, Richard and James Van Ryzin.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 at St Bernard Catholic Parish, 1617 W Pine Street, Appleton with the Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Virginia’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with the Mass to follow. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Appleton.
