Jean Vincent Obituary

Our sister, Jean took her final breath in the early hours of January 14, 2018. Jean was born July 14, 1944 to the late Leland and Irene (Tilly) Vincent. She was their first girl born after four sons. Eventually, she was joined by three younger sisters. She was raised in the country on a small dairy farm, and in 1962 she graduated high school in New London. After graduation, Jean’s life was one adventure after another. She began traveling early on and spent many years experiencing many new things and meeting many people. She made friends everywhere she went. Jean had a love for the Lord and began attending Bible studies early on. Eventually she returned to Wisconsin and her family. She enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters and loving her nieces and nephews. Jean never had children but had a deep love for them, especially babies. She made friends easily and spent time going to cookouts, Bible studies, women’s luncheons, and much more. One of Jean’s highlights was going to Israel with a church group. She was so excited to see places she had been studying about for years. To see the Bible come alive and be with like minded people was something she cherished the rest of her life. She volunteered at WEMI Radio Station, and spent many summers volunteering at Christian family camps up north. She went on several bus trips with WRVM Radio Station. One was to a True Women’s Conference in Indianapolis. She loved Door County and never said no to a chance to travel there and take the boat to Washington Island. She loved the YMCA and spent a lot of time there meeting people and exercising. She had a three wheel bike when she got older and would ride from Appleton to Kimberly on the bike trail. She found such joy in everything she did.

When her health started failing it prevented the traveling and bike rides. But it didn’t stop the fellowship especially with other believers! Her love for Jesus was so apparent. She spoke boldly about Him and was not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She had many Bibles and books written by Christian authors. Her love of reading and writing encouraging letters, to friends and family filled many long days the last years of her life. She cherished visitors when she ended up in a nursing home the last year of her life. When many friends and family members would stop and keep her company they would be welcomed by her big smile and her warm hugs. She continued to attend church and a woman’s Bible study right up to the end. Jean finally has all the fellowship and love she so enjoyed here. She’s finally in the arms of her loving Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you God for Jean’s life here.

Jean is survived by two brothers: Robert (Nancy) Vincent of Neenah and William (Violet) Vincent of Kimberly; two sisters: Irene Champeau of Neenah and Elaine (Tom) Meyer of Hilbert; sister-in-law, Ellie Vincent of Appleton, brother-in-law, Willie Fields of New London.
