James Monday Obituary

Our extraordinary brother, James Charles Monday, age 55, died peacefully at Saint Paul Elder Care on Monday, May 21, 2018 in the arms of his family.

James was born March 4, 1963 in Superior, Wisconsin to the late Dale B. Monday, Sr. and Elaine (Scharte) Monday. The family moved to the Appleton area in 1968 where James attended Appleton area schools. He was employed by Mary’s Place South and Valley Packaging. James was a faithful and dedicated member of Saint Pius X Catholic Parish. Above all James treasured his family, sharing lessons in compassion, love, acceptance, bravery and trust in the Lord. He loved riding his bicycle around town and socializing at Northside businesses. Because of his father‘s family business, he grew up with the love of Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also loved Schwinn bicycles, Volkswagens, and the inner workings of vacuum cleaners.
James is lovingly survived by his eight siblings, John (Annette) Engelman, Fleming Island, FL; Susan (Larry) Sajec, Sarasota, FL; Dale B. (Jamie) Monday, Jr., Appleton; Dennis (Judi) Monday, Appleton; Todd Monday, Granby, CO; Julie (Bill) Buss, Little Chute; Jill (Mike) Kohlwey, Granby, CO; and Jane (David) Jacques, Memphis, TN; the beloved Joanie Monday and by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. James was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Engelman and a niece, Kathy Engelman.

The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 beginning at 11:30 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton. Father Adam Bradley will officiate.
